TeddyBear (Teddy B.) is a male Wheaton Terrier Cross; approximately 4 years old. He is current on vaccinations and is microchipped. Teddy B. is blind. We've had him to a specialist and have learned that his eyes are not the problem so our next stop is a vet specializing in neurological care. Let us reassure you though, Teddy B. does not let his blindness slow him down; he is a happy loving dog and his tail starts wagging when he hears his name spoken by a friendly voice he recognizes. He is content to just sit and share his space with you when you have time to take a break. He can entertain himself with his stuffed toys while he waits patiently for you to have time for him. This is a very loving dog who needs a very special someone to have the patience, the love and the heart to help him live out his life knowing he is safe in the hands of his new guardian angel. Right now, Teddy is not a candidate to go to a home that has other pets. Teddy has not adjusted fully to his blindness and other pets in the home could add to his sensory issues. Right now he needs to be with someone who can give him quite a bit of one-on-one time with consistent and persistent training. Teddy may do well with another dog in the home in the future, but right now, addressing his own sensory needs comes first. Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Wisconsin if they match your IifestyIe. The Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier is a medium sized, shaggy dog. Wheaten Terriers are friendly, cheerful pets. Wheatens get along well with children. Wheaten Terriers can usually be socialized to get along with other dogs, but are not a good choice for homes with cats. Wheaten Terriers are intelligent and should receive consistent training from an early age. Soft-Coated Wheatens do fine living in an apartment if they get enough exercise.
