We are very happy with our adoption of Winston a Wheaten Terrier Mix. He was adopted and instantly became a adored member of the family. His antics keep us laughing all day long. He is very social thanks to the kind care he received. I have attached pictures, one of him swimming in a dog pool at a local pet resort and another at his favorite place on the couch. He loves the water and likes to see out the dining room window at the people going by on the walkway. Thanks for all you do, Rescue Me!

We adopted Boomer from a lady in Ohio. He has been the best thing to happen to us since we lost our last Wheaten in 2010. My only regret is that we waited so long. He is a true blessing and we are are grateful for Jeff Gold and Rescue Me!!!

Briah is adjusting to the new lifestyle presented in our family. She has been found to have excessive itchy skin that will be addressed at the groomers within her first scheduled appointments. Briah has been found to not care for strangers and behaves in an overprotective nature. I foresee some behavior modification with Briah though her protective manner is seen as an asset. Through positive reinforcement and encouragement and quality health care, Briah will live a long, productive and happy life with the love of her new sister and myself. Thank you, Rescue Me!

Deciding to give up Brady was a difficult decision, but one I knew we had to make. We knew that he needed to be in a home with no children and he would be happiest in a home where he would be the only pet! He is a sweet boy and loves to be loved. Within three hours of posting him on Rescue Me, I received a call from a lovely couple who had recently lost their own Wheaten. After several conversations we met for a trial visit and all went well! Brady is now happy and doing well with his new family! We even had another family who wanted to come to him all the way from Vermont! What a blessing this website turned out to be!

Thank you for establishing a wonderful, professional format, free of excessive advertisements. We had an enormous number of potential adoptor applications for Molly. Many of the applicants were well qualified. Molly found her new home, and we are pleased. We wish Molly and her new family many happy and healthy years together. Thanks again, Rescue Me!

This was not an easy day, but we are so happy for Princess and her new family! She came from an animal control situation, where there are so many now, that even this beautiful girl sat waiting for four months! After bringing her home, we found that she was just too much playful energy for our smallest rescued terrier. Someone with the Wheaten Rescue kindly recommended we try Rescue Me. Thanks to them, Princess has a wonderful new home.....Only three days later! Thank you Rescue Me for helping us find this precious little Princess the loving family she deserves!

Well, we didn't think it was possible, but it happened! Our beloved Kieran found a great new home with a wonderful man who was willing to travel a long way to meet him and pick him up to begin a happy new life together! I'm so grateful to Rescue Me for making it possible for Kieran to find a new, loving home. My family tried (unsuccessfully) to integrate him with our other three dogs and subsequent tries at adopting him out to rescue groups had been a challenge. But because of this website, we were able to find an ideal placement for him and I'm optimistic that he and his new owner will be best friends! We can't thank you enough. It was really hard to watch him go since we had raised him for eight years as a member of our family (since he was a puppy). Knowing now that he will be able to live his golden years in a great new home is a beautiful thing.

Rescue Me was a Godsend. I needed to find a home for my dog fairly quickly due to an accident and subsequent health issues. I first posted on Monday evening not expecting much. Tuesday morning, I had about two dozen responses! It's Thursday now and my dog is in a new home that I believe is absolutely perfect for him. It was so hard giving up my dog, but with the help of Rescue Me, I have found a family that couldn't be better if I search for a year. In all, I received almost 50 inquiries. Thank you so much for this well thought out, great running website to help connect people with great dogs in need of good homes.

We had our Wheaten Terrier for one year and three months. He came from a shelter. The very first week we had him, he bit our 24 year old nephew and our nine year old son. We thought he just needed to get used to us. He went on to bite three more gentlemen. Soon we realized he focused his bites on slim males. We kept him because, although a nervous dog, he was so personable and great with the family. We really enjoyed him. Recently, he bit another gentleman, whose wife wanted to call the police on the dog. Due to the fact that we run a used car business at our home, we felt we needed to re-home our dog. Being honest about his aggression, I called the shelter where we got him and they said 'No' We tried the Wheaten Rescue and were referred to Rescue Me. Within a half hour of posting our dog, I had two replies. Two days later, we met with one of those two people. Two days after that, she took him home for a trial visit. He has remained with them! They know all about him.. His fear, his nervousness, his biting, but they love him and are very eager to work with their vet and behaviorist to make life easier for him. We are very happy with his new family. He even has a Wheaten 'sister.' My kids cried when we told them we would need to re-home the dog, but after seeing pictures and hearing about his new family, they are quite happy for him. This was a great organization to use! Thank you so much Rescue Me for saving our dear dog! And an extra thank you to his new family for spending time with us as we say goodbye to our dear dog. This was not easy, but you have been so kind and caring about us. We are glad he has you!

I love my new puppy! I was very lucky to find him and his family on Rescue Me! As soon as I saw him I was in love. I met his family and they were amazing about the whole procedure. They were sad to let him go, but they knew Liam would have a loving home. Liam has settled in well and is enjoying being friends with our neighbors Wheaten, Maeve. Thanks Rescue Me. Without you, Liam would not be mine!

The first day of posting our dog on the site, we received at least three inquiries. In the two weeks that she was posted on the site, we had approximately 30 to 35 inquiries. We found a very nice family with three children who fell in love with Dixie and adopted her. Rescue Me made this very difficult process much easier, and helped us find a good home for our beloved pet.

I watched 'Chauncey' for several weeks on Rescue Me. Last Friday, I decided to check to see if he was still available. He was! The next day I met him, and after spending a couple of hours together with the foster mom. He and I drove home to begin a new phase of our lives. It's only been three days since we've been together, but it feels like forever! I feel like I'm the one who was rescued. Thank you so much, Rescue Me!!

We were very lucky to find a good home for Meghan through your site. I had four replies, but one woman sounded best to me and my son. He posted Meghan for me on Rescue Me. We were concerned that Meghan would go to a good home, and my son even called the woman's vet and got a glowing recommendation indicating she had lost her dog to illness and was a very responsible pet owner. We drove out to the meeting, and left Meghan in her care. They seem like a good match, which makes it easier to give up my relationship of 10 years with my dog. I miss her greatly, but there comes a time when you have to make a decision that is best for yourself and for your pet. Today, I made a $50 contribution to your organization. I did not think I would have as good a response as I got, especially since she is 10 years old. Keep up the good work!

Thank you, Rescue Me. My name is Lila. I was really scared when I was tied to a fence post in the middle of nowhere all alone in the dark. I could hear the coyotes getting near when a really nice lady stopped and let me jump into her car. From that point on it has been like a dream come true! The very next day a big van came and inside I got a nice bath and a haircut! Then another nice lady took me home to meet some other four legged friends and everyone immediately fell in love.. Me included! Now I will never be scared or lonely again! I give giant sloppy kisses to everyone who saved me and the wonderful family who adopted me..or should I say I adopted them! XOXO

After many, many emails and phone calls, we found an amazing forever home for him. He's finally gonna have a real chance to be a happy and healthy dog. And he so deserves it. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to you, and all the people who responded.

Rescue Me, I cannot thank you enough for your website. My seven year old soft coated wheaten terrier was adopted within one day of posting on your site. Giving up 'Hailie' was one of the most difficult things I've done in life. I raised her from a pup and was in a situation where I could no longer keep her. Her new owner drove over four hours to meet/adopt her. After receiving many requests, I determined she would be a perfect fit. This could not have happened without you. Thank you again and for your love of animals!!

The people that check your site are animal lovers and it made it easy to find Charlie a home.

It was a struggle emotionally to put Buttons up for adoption. Since my husband died, I have been overwhelmed with all my responsibilities and Buttons seemed to be so depressed. My desire was to find a home that provided Buttons with the attention she so desperately needed. Many quality individuals and families made inquiries about the dog. My selection for placement was based a great deal on knowing the Wheaton personality. I thank all for responding to my post. I hope this adoption is successful..time will tell. Thank you, Rescue Me.

My Wheaten, Bubba, was rescued using Rescue Me! The response was immediate and really amazing. I got numerous responses the same day I posted Bubba on your site. One of the responses seemed to be so serendipitous. It was a woman and her sister who live very near me that emailed me as soon as she saw the posting. I responded, and she called that same day. She came the next day to meet Bubba and took him home with her. She has a female Wheaten that she wanted a companion for, and she just fell in love with Bubba. We have texted back and forth and his adjustment seems to be going amazingly well. I can't begin to express how much it has meant to me to be able to re-home Bubba. He is a wonderfully loving and sweet dog, as are all Wheatens. Thank you so much. Obviously you have a wonderful site with lots of great followers.

Finding Shelby a new home was one of the more difficult choices we have ever had to make as a family; however, her dog/food aggression issues seemed only be to be getting worse. I honestly did not think my candor about our situation would yield any responses whatsoever: I was completely wrong. Not even five hours after I posted information about Shelby on Rescue Me!, I was contacted by the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Rescue of Southern California. They were extremely positive, reassuring and hopeful that Shelby could, in fact, be rehabilitated and re-homed to a fitting family. This happened on a Wednesday, and by Friday of the same week, Shelby was evaluated by a specialist (on behalf of the Wheaten Rescue), passed with flying colors, and taken by them for rehabilitation. They assured us they would find Shelby a good home and contact us when all was said and done. We could not have been more grateful, relieved, and happy for Shelby. Also, I received numerous responses from families still interested in Shelby in spite of her recorded bite and food-aggression; had the Wheaten Rescue not intervened, I do believe I still would have been able to find the right family to suit her special needs using only Rescue Me! Thank you, thank you.

Rescue Me helped me find a great home for my puppy Reece! I was not able to keep Reece due to my work schedule and trying to raise her on my own. I believed that Reece needed someone who can spend more time with her and that is exactly what I found! I was very fortunate to also find someone local so I didn't have to put Reece through the stress of flying! Rescue Me is a great site, both for people looking for a better home for their dog and people looking to add a dog to their home! Thank you!

This site is fantastic! In this day and age of not really knowing who is on the other end of your internet connection, I kept waiting for the, 'gotcha'. IT NEVER CAME. This is truly a service dedicated totally to the welfare of animals in need. I appreciate so much the surprising response I received about Cupcake. Within 24 hours I had over a dozen emails and phone calls from people who really were anxious to have a new friend in their lives. Christmas holidays put a slight delay in actually placing Cupcake, but she found a wonderful home with two young boys. She is their first dog and appears to have stolen everyone's hearts. Cupcake is very special and I am so glad that with your help, I could help her find her forever family. Thank you so much.

Dear Jeff- My husband has been out of work for over 15 months. As a result, we had to move from our home into a town home that we now rent and we were not allowed to keep our dog. I was devastated. I have always believed that once you have a dog, they are a family member for life. I tried to find him a home with family and friends without success. Desperate for a home for him, I went online to look up a rescue to ensure nothing would happen to him. Your website was the first I clicked on, and it was a great blessing. Hours after posting my dog on your website, emails and calls came pouring in. There was an overwhelming response and it was very touching. One woman even emailed me from an adopting organization and taught me how to look for the right family and gave me very practical advice about the process. After finding and talking to a great family, my dog and I met them to see how they interacted and if it was a good fit. It was a great fit. They adopted my dog into their wonderful family and I know with certainty that they really love him and appreciate him. He will be safe and cared for with lots of love and attention. He will also get to do things as a family unit which was very important to me. Thank you for being the conduit of finding the perfect new family, and for easing the pain of losing a loved one. You have changed a horrific situation into one of hope and have enabled a new beginning for a very deserving, wonderful dog. - Carolyn

The husband grew up with a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, so he is familiar with the breed, which was really exciting! I thank you so much for this website.      Hey Jeff, Thanks for following up. Hudson was officially adopted by another family this past weekend. As sad as it was to see him leave our home/lives, we knew he was going to a home that will continue to love him as we have. We felt that Rescue Me was a more secure way of finding a home for Hudson over alternatives like the local humane society. Although I do not want to discredit the work they do, risking him being euthanized was not something I was willing to move forward with. I think the best part of Rescue Me's Soft Coat Wheaten Terrier Rescue was that we knew the people interested in Hudson were already familiar with the breed. They seemed to be more learned and up on the ins and outs of what makes a Wheaten a Wheaten. Best regards, Nick Bindl

As far as using your website I was extremely pleased. I received about 10 inquiries. I had made three appointment almost immediately. I would recommend this website anyone looking for a good home for their pet or for someone looking to adopt.

Jeff, Roxy was adopted. But she was adopted by another family member very quickly. I was actually amazed at how well your site works. I received emails within hours and callers and they were all very considerate pet owners. I know that I will forward this email onto my brother who took Roxy for future reference, but will also let many of my friends know about this site. Some are looking for animals to rescue and this match up process with dog lovers is an excellent vehicle. Thanks for such a positive experience!

Hello Jeff! George Bailey went happily home with a teacher and her family on the second day after I listed him on Rescue Me. I also had another call today. Sorry I did not get him off sooner. Your sight was very friendly. And, I gotta tell you, if he had been OK with cats he would still be here. BTW, his new family named him 'Winston' which is probably not too traumatic since he is still a young little boy. Bless you for the work you do. Deborah Barr Cairns

Jeff, I listed our dog, Finley on the site and was receiving inquiries from interested families within 24 hours. Knowing that there are conscientious families looking to rescue and provide a happy home is very helpful when faced with giving your pet up for adoption. Thank you for providing this wonderful service. Very Respectfully, Nathan Chernecke

Hi Jeff, As of now, we have a lovely couple coming tomorrow to collect Geko. I cannot say enough kind words about RescueMe.Org. This website spared me the true heartache and within 20 minutes of our posting the phone was ringing off the hook! Most sincere people (I'll admit I got a weird call but that is the nature of the Internet). I will highly recommend this website to anyone. Susan Spencer

Hi Jeff, About twenty people emailed with an interest in Piper - she was only listed for a few hours total. I just replied to all of them to let them know that a family has adopted her. I received the first phone call within thirty minutes of listing her. All signs pointed to yes from the moment I spoke with Piper's soon-to-be new owner on the phone. She had been waiting for a Wheaten for about five years. The family lives in the next town over. She and her husband picked up her son from high school, came over about an hour ago, fell in love, and adopted Piper right then. I didn't expect that to happen so quickly. It was sad, but it seems it was meant to be. Piper will be happy and loved. It just felt right. She took to them as if she had known them for years. My partner and I are involved in feral cat rescue - trap, spay, neuter and socialize or release to a managed colony - and we have a deep appreciation for all that you do. Thank you for providing this wonderful service. Thank you, Amanda Mattison

Hi Jeff, Watson found a wonderful home this weekend. He is a very lucky dog to have found his family so quickly. He only had to do two meet and greets before they all clicked. Thanks to Rescue Me site for help getting the word out to so many people who believe in rescue! Jackie

Jeff, Zoey was adopted to a lovely home where she'll have lots of land to run and play on and a new playmate. Her new family drove all the way from Illinois to Minnesota to pick her up! We had numerous responses from people interested in her. It only took a couple weeks for her to be adopted. Thanks so much for the website, it made the process much easier to find her a good new home for her. Shawna
